We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join an established organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for the oversight and execution of the company's general accounting activities, financial close process, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting, and treasury functions.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop two accounting team members, ensuring accountability, professional growth, and high performance.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through timely and accurate reconciliations and analysis.
- Support multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support annual financial reviews, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and process enhancement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Manufacturing industry experience is required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Proven ability to supervise, coach, develop, and motivate staff.
- Demonstrated success in delegating tasks, managing priorities, and holding team members accountable to expectations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and multi-entity accounting preferred.
